The Wood Aster is a shade loving Native American that will mix beautifully with your Hostas, 'Jack Frost' Brunnera & Heuchera. Perfect in the wild woodland garden as well. A very unique and useful addition to the late season landscape. When most plants are spent, white wood aster brightens up the garden with hundreds of small starry white flowers glowing with a gold center. Distinctive leaves are heart-shaped, stalked and coarsely toothed. Small but abundant 1-inch flowers have white rays and yellow to red centers in late summer to early fall. Very attractive to butterflies. Cut back hard in spring
