Exotic in both leaf and flower, the Dragon Flower is a worthwhile addition to the garden for the interesting foliage let alone the bazaar purple-black flower. The flower itself can reach 1-4 feet tall. It relies on flies and other insects for pollination and emits a putrid, carrion-like smell to attract them, mostly just the first day. Dragon Lilies are tough and easy to care for. Plant 5-6'' deep. Keep dryish, Summer dormant.
