 (AKA: Scirpus cernuus) This petite plant has little ball like flower heads on the end of translucent, wiry, bright spring-green stems. These are tipped in summer by chaffy whitish flower clusters, which turn rust brown with age. Likes water. A good choice for the edge of a pond, as a low border, in containers. This is one of the few grasses that performs well in deep shade.
