Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata' Irish Yew |
 |
The perfect 'Green Wall' hedge plant! A very tough and useful evergreen with a strong upright growth habit. Makes a wondrous hedge, takes well to pruning and is drought tolerant. It grows in sun or part shade. Perfect for that dark, matte-green backdrop or screen and is slower growing but the wait is worthwhile. Yews are among the few conifers that thrive in dry shade and unlike most conifers, can be pruned back to old wood and will resprout readily. 7 to 8 feet high by 3 feet wide in ten years and could take 20 years to reach 20'.
