Southern River Fern

This old time southern fern has many common names: Southern River, Southern Wood, Southern Maiden. A great fern for the south, up to 4 foot fronds of a light green color and feathery texture. A little shade for a darker green color and this fern is easy to make happy. It is a Texas Native where it can survive long periods of drought. A slow rhizomatous creeper that spreads nicely, not obnoxiously, to make incredible woodland masses. One of the easiest ferns to grow. Deciduous.
