Vaccinium vitis-idaea

Lingonberry

(AKA: Cowberry) Lingonberries are related to the blueberry and cranberry. The flowers are many, bell-shaped, and white to pale pink. Shiny, dark green foliage is evergreen all winter even in the coldest years, unusual for a broad-leaved plant, though in its natural habitat it is usually protected from severe cold by snow cover. Green fruits form, and as they ripen they turn a bright red. This is a beautiful ornamental as well as an important nutritious fruit crop. Lingonberries are self-fruitful and do not require additional varieties to be present. Native to N America all the way to Alaska

Shiny, dark green foliage turns an attractive mahogany in winter. Best in full sun and evenly moist, acid soil. An AGM winner. This is a beautiful ornamental as well as an important nutritious fruit crop. Lingonberries are self-fruitful and do not require additional varieties to be present. Vaccinium vitis-idaea 'Balsgard'

Lingonberry

Fabulous fruit from a beautiful evergreen shrub. After six years of evaluating the Swedish Lingonberry program, 'Balsgard' was selected for its superior vigor, high yields, large berry size and judged to be the best flavored variety. The berries really excel in sauces, jams, jellies, and wine. The plant is compact, slightly upright, and spreads slowly. Flowers & fruits twice a year but the second crop may not fully ripen in colder zones. Also called European cranberry, partridgeberry, and foxberry. Virtually no insect and very few disease problems.

Crimson Glory Vine

Crimson Glory Vine is a perfect name for this breathtaking vine from Japan and Korea. A rapidly growing ornamental grape that can climb to the tops of trees. It has very large heavy leaves that can be up to a foot wide, and is known for its stunning, long lasting fall colors ranging from all shades of yellow and crimson to fire engine red. Small green flowers develop into purple-black fruit for your feathered neighbors. This can be a very hard-to-find plant. For your own safety, don't stand still too long near this vigorous beauty! Panicles of fragrant, greenish flowers are followed by clusters of wonderful, white seedless grapes that mature to a golden yellow and ripen early in the season. Excellent for fresh eating and for drying as raisins. Large, shallowly-three-lobed, green foliage. Flowers are attractive to bees. Grapes do in fact have good ornamental value: bold summer foliage, some fall color, showy fruit and shaggy, twisted trunking and branching often best seen in winter.
