After six years of evaluating the Swedish Lingonberry program, 'Balsgard' was selected for its superior vigor, high yields, large berry size and judged to be the best flavored variety. The berries really excel in sauces, jams, jellies, and wine. The plant is compact, slightly upright, and spreads slowly.
