Agastache Sunset Hyssop Agastache |
 |
SEEDS - Botanical Interests - Blooms from late summer to fall. Full sun to light shade. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees flock to its nectar-filled bright orange and lavender flower spikes. In full bloom, it is an explosion of color, reminiscent of the evening sunset, yet looks light and airy with its fine leaves. The greenish-gray foliage and blooms exude a pleasant root beer scent that reminds some of licorice or mint when touched. Leaves make a refreshing tea. Very drought-tolerant when established. Loves heat and well-drained soil. Also called Licorice Mint, Sunset Hyssop is a Southwestern U.S. native. Plant Select Winner 1997. Bot: Agastache rupestris
