An easy to grow and attractive shade plant. A Native American of the southeast. The long, narrow green spathe has an even longer yellow toungue (spadix). Red to orange berries. Pinellia pedatisecta Green Dragon |

This is a taller variety that is very proliferous with many spathes blooming from May to late August. Pinellia look like the Jack in the Pulpit with a similar tubular, pale-green blooms with the long whip-like tail. The pleasant difference is that instead of enjoying the unusual flowers once a year, Pinellia blooms non-stop from Spring through first frost. Surprisingly easy to grow and very hardy.
